There’s a chance — perhaps even a good chance — that I will be leading a workshop at a local art school on the “Art of Blogging” later this summer. As it has been an extraordinarily long time since I’ve actually blogged, I thought it prudent to re-acquaint myself with the practice. I’m told that WordPress is now the blogger’s blog-of-choice. Hence, I poured the contents of my long-neglected Blogger account into this new webspace.
My previous blog, entitled “Babyzilla Devours Tokyo,” could be classified as a traditional “mommyblog.” Begun mere weeks after the birth of my first son, Ridley, it provided a forum in which I could share musings, photos of offspring, and generally rant about stuff. Now that my kids are older, and I’ve returned to school, I’m kinda over all of that.
What, if anything, this ‘Lady Lazarus’ blog shall be remains to be seen. I think I might write about art, as this is something I do and am interested in.
Incidentally, the blog’s title ‘Lady Lazarus’ and tagline ‘dying is an art’ are words borrowed from the American poet Sylvia Plath. Yes, you get Brownie points if you caught the reference. Clever thing.
